Customer Reviews: Bad designMay 28, 2010 Jonbah 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought a pair of these air mattresses, one queen and a twin. They looked like they would be perfect because they were lightweight and compact when deflated. Then I opened them and realized that you can ONLY inflate them with the supplied pump. There is no way to manually inflate. There is no way to use a hand pump. There is no way to use another pump.
The problem is that they used a really odd valve design that will not work with anything else. That's fine as long as the supplied pump is charged and you have it with you. But it's a heavy, bulky thing to have to lug around when a simple hand pump would be lighter and never run out of charge. Even if you're in you house or where there is a power hook up the pump they provide is not ideal because you can't run it directly off AC (or car power). Instead you have to charge it for 12 hours then use it. And once the rechargeable batteries get old and stop holding a charge, you'll end up tossing the whole thing into a landfill.
